Vancouver police are searching for a 47-year-old convicted sex offender who failed to return to his Vancouver halfway house on Monday night.

Joseph Davis, who served a four-year sentence for sexual assault, had been released under a long-term supervision order.

In December 2007, Davis sexually assaulted a real estate agent in Winnipeg after luring her to his home. He was also convicted of assault causing bodily harm and forcible confinement in 2001 after he invited a female sex worker to his home.

He was staying at a halfway house in Vancouver until he failed to report as required on Monday.

A Canada-wide warrant has been issued for his arrest.

In 2017, a Canada-wide warrant was issued for Davis who was arrested in Saskatchewan after he fled his Vancouver halfway house and left the province.

Davis is described as white, 5-feet-8 and 178 pounds with short blond hair, blue eyes, and numerous tattoos on his arms.

He was last seen wearing a black rain jacket, blue jeans, work boots and carrying a small backpack.

Police ask anyone who sees Davis — or anyone who knows of his whereabouts — to call 911 immediately.
