A man has been charged with murder after a woman’s body was found in a garage in Sydney’s south-west, while two children slept in the house.
A family friend called emergency services about 4am on Easter Sunday, and officers arrived at the house on Curruthers Street in Minto to find the body of a 33-year-old woman who police said had suffered a violent death in the garage.
The woman’s husband was arrested at the scene and taken to Campbelltown police station for questioning and was later taken to Fairfield Hospital to get treatment for an injury to his hand.
Two children, aged six and 10, were asleep and unharmed inside the house. Police roused them and took them to the station, where the officers are trying to locate family members.
