TransLink releases another batch of Compass Card wristbands

Compass Wristbands work the same as Compass Cards — tap in and out when travelling on transit and reload online, at a Compass Vending Machine, by phone or in person. TransLink handout

TransLink is selling another batch of the popular Compass wristbands.

The wristband is TransLink’s first wearable payment option, allowing transit-users to load passes or fares onto the wristband instead of a Compass card.

The transit authority tested customer demand in December by releasing 2,000 wristbands and they sold out within two hours.

There are now 10,000 available for sale at either the Compass Customer Service Centre at Stadium–Chinatown Station (Monday – Friday 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.) or the West Coast Express Office in Waterfront Station (Monday – Friday 6:45 a.m. to 6 p.m.) while supplies last.

The wristbands require a $6 refundable deposit, similar to Compass cards.
